Construction/Public Improvement

October 26, 2010- Construction crews prepare to pour sidewalks on the paramenters of the new Dr. Kiran C. Patel Center for Global Solutions on the University of South Florida Tampa campus. The four-story structure features an environmentally-conscious sustainable design, which conserves energy and resources. The building is expected to be completed in December 2010

City Spot

November 29, 2010- Former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco announced in a press conference today that he will run for Tampa Mayor in 2011. The 77-year-old Greco as popular in his two previous terms as Tampa mayor. He served from 1967 to 1974, and again from 1995 to 2003.

Campus Spot

Novemember 9, 2010- Students visited booths tpo find the "hottest"and "most flavorful" chili today at the University of South Florida Tampa campus. Student organizations competed to win USF's Office of Veteran Affairs kicked off their Veteran's Week with their first-ever Chilli Cook-Off.

October 19, 2010- Ted Scott plays a round of golf with co-workers at The Claw Golf Course in Tampa.

Weather With Person

October 18, 2010- Quintin "Q-Dog" Givens says "we get out here to play every week, and we get blacker and black every week from this sun," during a day on the golf course with friends.

Public Meeting


October 29, 2010 -- Mike Merill, Interin County Administrator, addresses the Hillsborough County Charter Board in the Board Room of the County Center. Merill spent a lot of time at the podium defending his position on the black community and small business practices. The Charter Board's purpose is to conduct a comprehensive study of any or all phases of county government.

November 25, 2010- Elijah and Yuriah Bigos find creative ways to work off their Thanksgiving food by playing sword fights with sticks in their front yard. They said they're favorite food this year was sweet potatoes with the "marshmellow stuff."

Weather


September 27, 2010 -- A deadly house fire killed a 75-year-old woman and her 70 dogs around 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 26. Fire officials say 70 percent of the mobile home was engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire is still undetermined.

September 6, 2010- Yuriah Bigos, 9, takes a break from cheerleading practice. The Wesley Chapel Cowboy Cheerleaders begin their season with the Pasco Cheer-Off this Saturday.
